It (2017)  Flatliners (2017)

Well only one movie of note dropped out of the top twenty this weekend and unfortunately it was the dark genre flick mother!. The movie managed a three week run but could only raise $1.6 million as Aussie horror fans continue to demonstrate their ability to lap up half arsed Boredwood flicks while avoiding anything half decent.

In its first full week of release Blade Runner 2049 slightly disappointed with an average of $9,093 over 498 screens, which did however deliver a bow of $4,528,430. Possible blockbuster on the way folks if word of mouth follows from the initial rush to the cinema, well okay and a few repeat offenders, but hey the SciFi flick has kicked off well. Only tad disappointment is the opening weekend average per screen which failed to impress.

So after a couple of weekends in top spot Kingsman: The Golden Circle dropped -45.4% and ended up in second spot. The movie still added just under a couple of million for the weekend, strong enough over weekend three right, pushing total gross to a solid enough $15.9 million. A good hold over weekend four and blockbuster will definitely be on the agenda, we aren't giving it away just yet dark fiends of the void. And in third spot The Emoji Movie was off 22.4%, earning another $1.7 million to push total gross to a $12.5 million verdict on the collective IQs of Aussies. down.

So get ready for the suck as It continues its slide down the chart, off -46.5% over weekend five and dropping below a million earn. Pennywise and friends managed $772K over the weekend which pushed total earn to $22.7 million, though guess we are winding down on the big horror movie of the year. Over weekend two Flatliners (2017) held up with a sub 50% contraction earning a solid enough $609K which is surprisingly pushing the total earn towards a solid enough total result that is going to be well passed an acceptable total.

Bad Blood (2017)  Happy Death Day   The Belko Experiment

A few releases this weekend to keep us happy and ready to rock. First up is the Aussie thriller Bad Blood (2017), no it's not a remake kids, which unfortunately isn't going to do as well as the marketing munchkins think. Couple off for a romantic weekend that turns violent and nasty, hey who hasn't had a weekend like that, and I for one am foaming at the mouth to catch a view of this bad boy. Anyways the flick is being marketed heavily on the shoulders of Xavier Samuel and his involvement in the Twilight franchise. Problem here is the chicks who flocked to Shovel Face and Vanilla's meaningless four movies aren't about to put their bums in seats to watch something like Bad Blood, and equally dark genre fans aren't likely to turn out to view anything that smacks of Twilight, I'm dropping $150K on this weekend's result but am saying anyone reading who is in Oz should check it out. Weird little movie coming at you from the Hollywood torture chambers Happy Death Day sort of Groundhog Day meets Happy Birthday to Me, and hey why have multiple victims for the goofy masked killer when you can have just the one on repeat rinse cycle. I'm actually thinking this one might scare up $1.5 million on opening weekend from the date crowd, teens, and want to be scared people. And finally Greg McLean's latest drops, but without much in the way of advertising or screens I'm not expecting much in the way of box office action, it could get nasty folks.
