"She seemed so sad. I've decided to give her a smile that will last forever." - Charles Montgomery

Seems we aren't over with the new ghost introduction this season, guess there's a few guest rooms Moira hasn't aired out. Elizabeth Short visits murder house in 1947 to have a tooth ache sorted by the resident Dentist. Don't ask I didn't, anyways Liz can't afford the bill but offers to pay the Dentist in other ways. During sex in the dental chair Elizabeth dies, I assume due to an overdose of anaesthetic, and the Dentist panics. But hey Dr Montgomery is on hand to slice and dice, eviscerate, and generally mutilate Liz's corpse and then dump it in wasteland, to be later discovered by a chick out walking her baby.

Back to the future and Ben is doing his best to hold the oversexed younger version of Moira at bay. He learns Vivien's unborn twins have different fathers. Naturally Ben has to deliver the Sermon on the Mount to Vivien down the local nut house, wonderfully Ben not getting the irony of the pot calling the kettle black. Meanwhile Hayden is having a high old time with Travis, Constance's toy boy, which leads to Hayden stabbing Travis to death and the body being disposed by Larry in pretty much the safe condition as Elizabeth Short's remains. Wonder if anyone will make the connection? So a bunch of other things happen, but lack of space, let's rip this one up.

Spooky Little Girl could have been titled "the last temptation of Ben" as the dude is fighting off hot chicks left, right, and center. Firstly younger Moira is letting the offer stand out there, and we get a T&A montage as Ben breaks into a sweat. He fights her off, as he loves his family, and all, hey it's not like he got one of his students pregnant or anything. The ghost of Elizabeth Short shows up for a consultation and offers some sex in payment, Ben tells her she doesn't need to do that as she should feel safe with him. Just when Ben is congratulating himself on not leaping on various hotties, and is possibly on his way to the basement to relieve the tension, he discovers scantily clad Moira and Liz getting it on in one of the lounge rooms. Ben tells Liz she has to leave, he can't take her case, and fires Moira. And just when Ben thinks it's all over now baby blue Hayden gets all hot and bothered. Surprisingly the dude keeps it in his pants, but man is he sweating through the episode.

Ben is a complete arsehole, I really really hate this character, the sort of person you would kick in the nuts in a bar room

Just to reinforce we're talking sex is bad, and will have consequences for those leaping into some horizontal dancing; writer Jennifer Salt goes Mormon on us. I was surprised the ghost didn't sparkle yo! Elizabeth goes the bonking path with the Dentist, and naturally ends up dead, Travis gets hot and bothered with Hayden, and ends up dead, Vivien is in for psychological evaluation on the mere hint of sexual malpractice getting out of control. Speaking of which besides Ben being holier than thou, he also makes a complete goose of himself when he confronts Luke over the paternal identity of Vivien's babies.

Just when we get Jennifer Salt is going slasher on us, have sex and die, she underlines things with one hell of a plot twist that certainly made me sit up and take notice. Moira, thinking she can score one over Constance, let's her know Tate is the father of one of Vivien's babies. Constance surprisingly takes the news quite well, besides bashing Tate upside the head, she goes into nesting mode and even proposes marriage to a shocked Travis. Billie Dean, who apparently has arrive around Constance's place for coffee and cake confides in Constance that the Vatican has a secret box that contains the secret of how the Anti-Christ will rise to lay waste to the world, guess how that happens friends and neighbours. Hell yeah one awesome final quarter of the season coming on up with the added topping of an apocalypse thrown into the mix. Analysis that shite Ben! Talk about your serious consequenes for sex outside the marriage!

Surprisingly Spooky Little Girl has generated a whole lot of controversy, and it has nothing to do with the over sexed nature of the episode or the whole Anti-Christ thing. Guess the Fundos don't pay for cable and haven't dialled into the show yet. Either that or they are down in the privacy of their own basements doing a Ben on us. Seems a number of people are upset with the portrayal of the real crime "Black Dahlia" case that involved the murder of a certain Elizabeth Short in 1947. Cue the dramatic music, and Dr Watson to surgery please, we have a number of carrots to extract from arses. Since the original crime was never solved who is say it didn't involved a sex act gone wrong in the most haunted house in California, well reality for one, but hey some of the conspiracies out there make this episode look positively rooted in fact. I'm actually doing the happy naked dance at the fact that horror can still get under peoples skins and cause them to froth at the mouth. Oh hell yeah, the subversive nature isn't dead just yet, only waiting to burst forth from the grave of Boredwood ineptitude really.

I liked the book marking of the episode with the two murders, but I've got a feeling that nothing will be made of the strong parallels between the two. It would make for a decent extra layer if we had a Detective Kinderman making the scene later in the season, and perhaps a good bridge between this season and next season. Actually, and I shouldn't say this as someone will think it's a good idea; a mockumentary investigation of the two murders would make an excellent one off movie if handled right.

Spooky Little Girl managed to bounce up to 2.85 million viewers on debut, no doubt fuelled by some strategic trailers. FX are rocking out here with pretty much a tent pole franchise giving the channel a surge in popularity.

Okay have a lack of remaining words here so going to close this one out. I rocked out to the episode, and no not just because of the various hotties involved, but due to the added layers and the whole Anti-Christ thing being thrown into the mix. Full recommendation to folks who have been following the season, if you haven't you are going to miss a whole lot of things. Over the last few episodes I've become a firm fan of the show, can't wait to hit the final quarter of the season.
