"They're not hunting us. We're in the middle of a war" - Lex
First runs on the board for horror Downunder in 2015 - Wyrmwood
Now that didn't take long, Aussie zombie flick charts on limited run
Wyrmwood: Road of the Dead opened over last weekend on a limited 77 screens. The movie slotted into eighteenth spot with a per screen average of $1,124 and bow of $85,388. Considering the independent nature of the movie and the fact that it hasn't got a large advertising budget behind it that's a major achievement.
"Barry is a talented mechanic and family man whose life is torn apart on the eve of a zombie apocalypse. His sister, Brooke, is kidnapped by a sinister team of gas-mask wearing soldiers & experimented on by a psychotic doctor. While Brooke plans her escape Barry goes out on the road to find her & teams up with Benny, a fellow survivor - together they must arm themselves and prepare to battle their way through hordes of flesh-eating monsters in a harsh Australian bushland." - Kiah Roache-Turner & Tristan Roache-Turner
The movie has been described as Mad Max meets Dawn of the Dead, no comment as naturally the regions haven't got a sniff of this one - sucks to be us. Check out the trailer below kids.
