The Walking Dead to run at least 12 seasons?

This morning are reporting that show Producer David Alpert has spilled the beans on plans for AMC's hugely successful zombie franchise

Yes I know we're trudging through season three and season four awaits with season five having been greenlit by AMC, but come on 12 seasons! I'm a huge fan of the show and comic books, but another eight seasons might be stretching the friendship especially if one of the core characters goes down in the next season or so.

David Alpert has reportedly stated at the 'Produced By' panel at the PGA over the weekend, "I happen to love working from source material, specifically because we have a pretty good idea of what season 10 is gonna be. We know where season 11 and 12…we have benchmarks and milestones for those seasons if we’re lucky enough to get there."

Can't argue with that, though it's still a year to year proposition with very much the ratings determining show longevity. Still with over 120 issues of the graphic novel to draw story lines from there's still plenty of new material to throw Rick Grimes and team at.

Fingers crossed they don't try and resurrect the Governor, dude be dead, let's not fall into that trap! More information as it comes to hand.
